Outline for Sunday, April 20, 2025
Sunday AM Matthew 26:45-54 4-20-25
After Jesus fulfilled all Scriptures related to His first coming, He went
to the cross. He was betrayed, arrested & tried in an all-night rush to
put Him to death. He died as the substitutionary sacrifice for sinners. It
was a tragic, hurtful and bloody event but praise be to God, it ended
three days later in triumph.
Tragedy to Triumph
I. Prophecy Fulfilled Isaiah 53:3-6
A. Jesus death on the cross was always the plan to save mankind
B. He knew what was coming (I Peter 1:18-20)
1. Isaiah described what would happen to Him
2. He would be despised, rejected, wounded by sinners
3. He would be smitten of God (v 10-11)
4. Our sins were laid upon Him (II Cor 5:21)
II. Price was Paid
III. Victory Secured Luke 24:1-7
Con. Jesus suffered & died to provide salvation for sinful mankind.
But He will return in power and glory, as the King of kings and Lord
of lords. (Rev 19:16).
