Pulpit to the Pew

Many of those who come forward during an invitation hymn have already accepted Christ as Savior. Their spiritual need is not to be saved but to submit to Him as Lord. Generally speaking, this is called rededication. Those who have already put their trust in Christ and then strayed from Him, do not need to be "re-saved". However, they might need to be re-focused and re-committed to His will.

Youth Rally - The Grand Prairie Association Youth Rally will meet at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on Monday night, April 20th. The rally will begin at 7:30 PM. Our church van will leave Lakeside at 6:50 PM.

Sunday Morning I Cor. 10:1-15 14th in series

Ignorance of the Scripture is contrary to the will of God. The example of the nation of Israel is used to express God’s disfavor with the sins of His people. They should have known that God would not continue to tolerate their actions. Yet, they refused to repent until judgment was already pronounced upon them.

I. Privilege of God’s People I Cor. 10:1-4

A. Ignorance is not acceptable (of Biblical examples)

B. Israel had knowledge, blessings and privileges from God

C. Baptized unto Moses (reference to Moses)

D. That Rock was Christ (provided water in the wilderness)

II. Prediction of Judgement I Cor. 10:5-11

C. We learn from poor examples as well as good ones

III. Principal of Testing I Cor. 10:12-15

A. A way to escape - "that ye may be able to bear it"

B. Flee from idolatry (Joseph’s good example)

1. Resist the devil (James 4:7-8)

2. God is faithful (v 13)
