June 21, 2009 – Father’s Day

Pulpit to the Pew

In most families the father is the disciplinarian. Children are expected to accept direction from their parents. Failing to do so, brings corrective discipline from a loving father. Our Heavenly Father does the same thing. Earthly fathers might make a mistake sometimes but our Heavenly Father never does. His discipline is always appropriate, in proper measure, without error and done for our good. (Please read Heb. 12:5-10.) As a father who loves his children will discipline them; our Heavenly Father will do the same.

ABA Meeting - The 84th annual messenger meeting of the American Baptist Association will be held in Springfield, Missouri this week. Sunday Morning Father’s Day 6-21-09

The best home life is one patterned from Biblical examples. There is a chain of command with God at the top. A faithful father is next, who is subject to God and follows His commands in all things. A good father needs a supportive wife who also obeys God in all things.
