Pulpit to the Pew

As the curse of sin and death came by one man, Adam. So also, the gift of righteousness and eternal life came by One Man, Jesus Christ (Rom. 5:12-19). Adam’s disobedience caused the human race to be plunged into sin. Even so, by the obedience of Christ, salvation is made available to all. Have you received His gift of eternal life?

Searchlight

Many of our families receive the Searchlight newspaper every month through our church subscription. The cost is $6 per year through the church but is mailed directly to your home address. If you would like to receive this paper, fill out the form in today’s bulletin and leave it with us.

Building Fund Special Offering

There will be a special offering at the close of the morning worship service for the building fund. The ushers will have offering plates at the auditorium doors to receive this offering from those who wish to give.

AWANA/Discovery

There were ninety one present last Wednesday night for AWANA clubs and teen Discovery. Among these were five brand new AWANA students. It looks like we are going to have another very good year. Just a reminder: Long pants (jeans) and tennis shoes are required in order to play the games.

Singspiration and Church Fellowship

Our monthly Singspiration will be next Sunday evening.

Children’s Choir Practice will be immediately after lunch today.

Adult Choir Practice at 5:00 PM today.

Grand Prairie Youth Rally

The youth rally will be held with Faith Missionary Baptist Church here in Des Arc on Monday night, September 21st. We really should be able to bring home the attendance banner this time! (Lakeside is next in line to host the youth rally which will be on October 19th.)

New Tabernacle at Budd Creek

Lakeside Church would like to raise $10,000.00 during the next year for the Budd Creek Tabernacle Fund. Several fund raising efforts are already underway: The change jar in our vestibule has a $1,000.00 goal for this purpose. The rent a kid project may be done at any time during the year. (Our young people may be "rented" by our church members for chores at a rate of $10.00 per hour. See Scott Addison for details.) Of course, all the proceeds go into the Tabernacle Fund.

Another effort that is underway is for parents, grandparents or others interested adults to give a regular monthly offering. A monthly offering of $25.00 amounts to $300 in twelve months. If 30 families did this, it would raise $9,000.00 in a year!

Everything should go through the church. The church treasurer is keeping up with all that is given for the Tabernacle Fund. Your checks should be made out to Lakeside and designated on the memo line that it is for the Budd Creek Tabernacle Fund.

Please don’t forget to pray. Pray that God will bless the efforts of other churches that are also raising funds for the new tabernacle. Pray for Brother Paul and Sister Dianne Weatherford, who are responsible for the operation of the camp. Pray that souls would be saved as a result of the preaching of the gospel at Budd Creek Church Camp.

Ladies Auxiliary Cook Books

Advance sales for the Ladies Auxiliary cook books are being accepted. The books will be $12.00 each. You will find coupons on the vestibule table. Money for the cookbooks may be turned in to Sister Faye or Sister Brenda.
