What is Awana?

 Awana is an international, nondenominational, Bible-centered youth organization providing weekday clubs and programs for three-year-olds through high schoolers. The acrostic AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim.2:15).

Why Awana?

The pledge to the Awana flag describes the purpose of Awana best. It says, "I pledge allegiance to the Awana flag, which stands for the Awana Clubs, whose goal is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ, and train them to serve Him (emphasis added)."

Lakeside's Awana Commander Dennis Johnson invites all children to "come and join the fun".
